Modified on Thu, 28 Nov at 4:41 PM

Plans can change, and as a Guest, you may need to adjust your booking to better suit your schedule.

Whether it’s updating check-in or check-out times or modifying the number of Guests, editing a booking is simple and hassle-free.

This guide explains how to request changes to your booking, ensuring that your stay is perfectly tailored to your requirements.

Guests can request changes either before or after the booking has been accepted by the Host. Guests can also respond to change requests sent by Hosts.

Useful Information

Making changes to a booking

Note: In this example, we will be making changes to an accepted booking, but the process is the same for requested bookings.

1. Log in to your Guest account by tapping on 'Guests'.

2. Tap on the 'Bookings' tab.

3. Locate the correct booking and tap 'View Booking'.

4. Scroll down and tap 'Request Changes':

5. The next page shown below is where you can make changes to your requested or accepted bookings. Enter any desired changes on the form.

Once you've included a message to the Host, tap 'Request Changes'.

Just as with requesting a booking, any increase in the total booking fee will require payment of the additional deposit at the time of requesting the change.

The other party has 24 hours to accept or reject the request.

Once the other party accepts the changes, any adjustments to deposit and remaining balance will be taken care of and notifications sent. That's it!

Receiving requested changes to a booking

Hosts can request changes. These appear as 'Bookings Requiring Attention' in the bookings tab.

1. Once you've located the booking, tap on 'View Changes'.

2. If you're accepting the booking, tap on 'Accept Changes'.

3. Any changes in price will be indicated. Just as with requesting a booking, any increase in the total booking fee will require payment of the additional deposit at time of accepting the change.

Double check the changes and tap 'Accept'.

4. If you chose to reject the changes then tap 'Reject Change'.

5. Guests can also tap 'Reject and suggest a new change' if they wish to indicate their own preferences.

Tapping on it will allow you to amend the number of Guests and booking dates.

Once you've included a message to the Host, tap 'Request Changes'.

If the change request is accepted by the Host the deposit and remaining balance will be taken care of and notifications sent.

If the Host rejects the change you will receive notification of this and the booking will revert to it's original state for you to decide upon.

That's it!

Useful Information

Both requested and accepted bookings can be edited.

Note: If the booking is accepted but the Host's requested changes are not accepted by the Guest, either party is within their rights to cancel the booking without penalty.

Currently only Hosts can override the automatically calculated price for a booking. Guests wishing to request a price different to that calculated would need to contact the Host asking them to make the requested changes themselves.

If the total fee is increased, the Guest is required to pay the additional deposit at the time of requesting or accepting a change.

Requested changes expire after 24 hours without a response

  • These are the editable elements of a booking:
  • Room
  • Number of Guests
  • Check-in/Check-out date
  • Price
  • 'Booking on behalf of' status

(Bookings cannot be moved between different digs listings)

If a Guest wishes swap rooms part way through a stay (and after the booking has started) the Guest must ask the Host to edit the booking, to do this.

When you make or accept a change that increases the amount to pay on a booking:

The minimum transfer amount for change requests is £0.30 via bank transfer. You can select PayPal as your payment option on amounts £1 or more.

If a request is rejected, cancelled or expired then any potential refunds or additional payments will be made void and no payment will taken.

If a request is accepted then any potential refunds or additional payments will be processed and the change will be reflected on the booking.

In the event a booking is cancelled, any additional payments will be considered part of the deposit and processed as such.

To withdraw a request, find the booking and click the "Withdraw" button.

Once withdrawn, no changes will be made and all potential refunds and additional payments will be made void.

Rejecting a request requires a reason for the rejection.
