The Edinburgh Visitor Levy (Tourist Tax)

Modified on Mon, 8 Sep at 4:51 PM

Background

The Scottish Government is giving councils powers to introduce a visitor levy (or tourist tax).  This will generate funds to invest in local facilities and services, helping to attract more visitors.

The first council to implement this is Edinburgh.  Anyone who is staying in paid, overnight accommodation in Edinburgh needs to pay the levy.
