What is Theatre Hosting?

Traditionally in the UK, Theatre Hosts support their local theatre by renting out their spare rooms. This enables touring theatre professionals to find local, friendly and good quality digs to stay in whilst they are performing.

Although we are open to anyone using our site, TheatreDigsBooker's purpose is to support the theatre industry by helping Guests to find digs.

We are the No.1 online accommodation resource for the UK's theatre industry!

How is it different to other Hosting sites?

Unlike other Hosting sites who mainly help people list or find holiday rentals worldwide, TheatreDigsBooker is targeted towards the small community of touring theatre professionals who require good quality, affordable digs whilst they tour in the UK and Ireland.

Many of our Hosts only rent out their rooms when a big tour is visiting their local theatre. Their rooms solely rented out with the purpose of supporting the UK's touring theatre industry.

Our Guests often work long hours at the theatre and require very little from their digs and Hosts, however, a comfy, clean warm bed is a must!

It's a great, supportive and flexible way to get into Hosting and if you're lucky you'll make some great friends along the way too.

Here's what some of our Hosts had to say about Hosting with TheatreDigsBooker

"I’ve been a host in Plymouth for just over a year and have loved having actors, dancers and technicians staying.  This summer has been particularly fun with big shows coming to the Theatre Royal and having great characters to stay. People have arrived as strangers and left as friends, fitting in as part of the family and being missed when they leave. It’s a nomadic kind of life for actors but an adventure too - a unique way to see the country (or the world!) & meet lots of new people along the way. Creating a ‘home from home’ for them is a delight to do and I’m thrilled I joined TheatreDigsBooker - thank you for letting me be part of the hosting team!"

Host - Jayne from Plymouth

"Since we joined in May, we have been very impressed with everything about the way TDB is run. Everyone we've contacted and all the communications are so helpful, positive and enthusiastic!"

Hosts - Mary & Geoff from Portsmouth

"We recently hosted a ballet dancer. An impressively dedicated young man who left home and country at 16 to pursue his dream. It turned out he has a knee injury similar to my own.  I now have a full set of excellent exercises to do!"

Host - Sally from Leicester

"We have only been hosts since the beginning of the year but we have had a blast, hosting truly lovely, interesting and wonderful people, we now think why didn’t we do this a while ago?"

Host - Janie from London
