How to add digs

Great! So, you’ve created an account and want to be a Host!

Before starting, gather these assets to complete your listing in one smooth session:


  • 5–10 landscape photos of your property and guest rooms
  • Check-in/out times and property rules
  • Gas Safety details (if applicable)

Phase 1: Basic Details & Location


Sign in to your Host account. (If you don't have an account yet, click here and follow the onscreen registration instructions.)

 

 


2. Create a New Listing

 

Select Digs from the main navigation menu.

 

 

Then choose Add Digs to open the listing creator.

 

 


3. Enter Property Basics & Address

 

Listing Name: Enter a concise title (90-character maximum).

 

Property Type: Select the type of accommodation you offer.
 

 
Residence Type: Indicate whether this is your primary residence.

 

  

Address: Input your address manually or via the search bar
  


Precise Location: Add a what3words address for tricky locations (this is optional and only shared with confirmed Guests.) 


Once complete, hit 'Create Digs'. 


 


Phase 2: Description, Rooms & Photos

 

On the next page you will see a list of sections which you can complete by clicking on the green 'Add' or 'Edit' boxes. 

 

Incomplete segments will be marked with a grey cross, whereas complete sections will have a green tick next to them. 

  


4. Add Property Descriptions


Click on the green 'Add' button next to the description section and fill out the three description boxes:


Area & Transport: Neighbourhood highlights and transit options.


Parking: Available parking facilities.

 

 

Digs Description: Overall overview of your space. Once complete, hit 'Save'.

   

 


5. Select Amenities & Facilities


Features: Click on the 'Add' button next to the 'Features' section.


Then, select all available amenities in common areas and hit 'Save'.



Shared and Excluded Facilities: Click on the 'Add' button next to the 'Shared and Excluded Facilities' section.


Then, Specify exclusive, shared, or excluded facilities across the property and hit 'Save'.  


 


6. Set Up Rooms


Only list dedicated sleeping spaces here. Common living spaces, kitchens, and bathrooms shouldn't be added as rooms.


Select 'Add' for each space you rent out. 

 

 

Name & Capacity: Name the room and set maximum Guest capacity.

   

Bed Type: Select bed types available. 

 

 

Bathroom Type: Select the bathroom type available to the Guest

   

Room Features: Choose room-specific features, set your nightly prices, and select Save.

     

Set your Pricing: Enter your desired nightly, weekly and monthly price and click 'Save'.

 

 


7. Upload Photos


Click on the 'Add' button next to the Photos section. 


Click on the 'Plus' icon and follow the onscreen instructions.


Tip: Use landscape orientation. Ensure your primary cover photo clearly shows the Guest bedroom.

  


Click on the 'Plus' to begin selecting images.


 

Click on 'Photo Library' to select photos. 

   

Tap on the images you wish to upload and then tap the blue tick. 

 

 

Tap on 'Upload'.


 


Phase 3: Rules & Arrival Details

 

8. Define House Rules

 

 

Set check-in/check-out windows, along with guidelines on smoking, pets, visitors, and allergen considerations.



9. Set Guest Suitability

 

 

Share details about the household environment (e.g., host smoking status, resident pets, accessibility features, or child friendliness).

 


10. Add Arrival Instructions

  

 

Provide arrival guidance, key pickup info, backup contact numbers, and house operating tips (such as heating instructions).


Note: Guests only receive this information 1 day before arrival.




Phase 4: Safety & Settings 

 

11. Health & Safety

 

 

Select active safety measures (e.g., smoke detectors, first aid kits) and outline custom safety details for your property.



12. Gas Safety


  

Indicate whether the premises has a gas supply and confirm if a valid Gas Safety Certificate is displayed on-site.

 


13. Booking Settings

  

 

Booking length: Set minimum and maximum stay requirements. 



Notice Periods: Set your timing rules for accepting reservations. 

 

 

Guest Type: Choose who is eligible to book your space and hit 'Save'.

 

  


Extras


To see where you can improve your listing click on the 'More' button at the bottom of the page, then on the next page click on the word 'Status' to make improvements and ultimately get more bookings. 


Top Tip! A red dot is an indication that an action is required by you.  To view this, simply click on the icons which have the red dot!


 



Finally, you just need to update your calendar. You can click on the 'Calendar' button at the bottom in the middle of your mobile view to go to your calendar.  You can click here to see our full calendar tutorial.


That's it! You have completed your digs listing. To double-check your digs listing, just click ‘Preview’ from your digs page.


Note: If there is anything on your Digs Listing which would help you improve your search ranking we will remind you each time you go into your Host account and you will see this pop up message:

  

 

You can either scroll down to see which sections of your Digs need completing (shown with the grey cross), click 'Add' to complete the missing section - see screen shot below:

 

  

Or you can tap on 'Complete now' and this will take you to any of your Profile or Digs details that need completing.  You can dismiss this pop up by tapping on the X in the top right hand corner. We want to help you ensure your account is as up-to-date as possible, so we will remind you each time you log in if you have any information missing.

Once you’re happy just log out or quit your internet browser.
