Dear TheatreDigsBooker customer,


On the 16th March 2020, The Prime Minister gave the advice for the UK to initiate ‘social distancing’ and in particular, he said that “Everyone should avoid gatherings and crowded places, such as pubs, clubs, and theatres.”


In subsequent measures to slow the spread of the Coronavirus, he has instructed all venues to close and all citizens to practice social distancing. 


These measures have caused an unprecedented immediate and total shut down of our beloved industry (along with most others) and we send everyone affected by this situation our very best wishes. 




Similarly, as a tiny company of just six employees plus me, we have been hit incredibly hard by these events and on the 20th March 2020, I was forced to close the office and lay-off all our staff. 


Thanks to the Government's Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, we have since been able to retain those staff on "Furlough", which whilst it helps to protect our team against the threat of redundancy for now, the restrictions of the scheme prevent anyone who is furloughed from doing any work.


This means that our usual, amazing and hard-working team are not around to answer your enquiries or to process any refunds for cancelled or amended bookings but we do have someone responding to urgent enquires once a day.


I know that on top of everything that is affecting our Hosts and Guests, this is yet one more thing to cause frustration and pain but, at this stage, there is nothing we can do other than explore every option to bring revenue back as soon as possible.


Update:

As at 28th May 2020, we have managed to secure enough emergency funding to save the business and all energies are focussed on bringing about revenue to speed up the payout of the deposit refunds that are currently delayed. For more details on delayed deposits, please see this help article
