We do not 'vet' or inspect digs ourselves.
Even if we could get to all of our 7000+ Hosts personally, a quick visit and look around is nowhere near as good as actually staying for a night or more. Therefore, we rely heavily on our Guests to write reviews after they have stayed. We also ask for feedback if Guests need to say anything that they don't feel comfortable writing in a publicly viewable review.
To find out more about a Host, Guests can enter their required dates into the listing to reveal the details of the Host. By clicking on the name of the Host, you are taken to the Host's profile.
We aim to speak with all new Hosts to discuss their listing and manually check through their listing with them. Not all Hosts are available during the day and so not all Hosts have been verbally verified but we aim to follow this up with emails and support articles.
Any booking history, reviews and acceptance stats are shown in the Host's profile.
In most cases, this is enough for Guests to make an informed choice but all Guests are more than welcome to message the Host and ask any questions they feel they need to via the 'Contact Host' button:
We feel that these features along with 15000+ reviews written mostly by Theatre Professionals who have actually stayed in the digs are far more valuable than a quick visit to 'vet' digs and we hope you agree.
